“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
- James 1:22
Application is very important, it is the key to getting things accomplished. A lack of application can cause one to do something that they tell others not to do. Sometimes, people don’t have the application for what they teach. Be it a doctor who doesn't follow their wise medical advice; or a Christian, who does not apply the Word of God.
However, we must be doers of the word and we must not lack application. If we say that we will pray, then we must be faithful to do it.
Similarly, if we say that we will fast, we must be intentional about taking the time to fast. We must apply the principle of application to our actions, we must also apply the Word of God to everything in our life. We must be doers of the Word of God!
It is no good to hear something powerful, yet never change a thing in our lives. The level of deception is determined by the difference between what we hear and what we do. It is very integral to apply the Word to our lives. Wherever our area of need is, we must apply the Word of God. We must do more than hear the Word of God, let us not deceive ourselves. Let us be doers of the Word.
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. - Isaiah 60:1
Do not be waiting on God because He is waiting on you. Glory and the light is already there.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.
- Ecclesiastes 9:10
Do everything with all your might using application! Integrate faith in all parts of your life because, without application, works are dead. Faith is a very practical tool that has been gifted to us, therefore we must utilize it in our lives.
Abandoning the power of the application is not going to get us anywhere in life. Let's use apply the Word of God to our lives. We must always utilize application with our actions. The usage of application will direct us, and cause a change in our lives. A lack of application will cause us to stay in the same place. So start Applying the Word of God today!
