The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, “What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying: ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children’s teeth are set on edge’?

Genetics allows children to inherit traits from their parents such as how they look, down to their health conditions. Notice that when you go to the doctor they inquire about your family history to understand your personal health better, and to be informed about any risks that may be present. Similarly, spiritual conditions can be passed down as well. Familiar spirits are spirits that trend within families and they are demonic settings that must be broken. Demonic settings can guise as financial struggles, emotional difficulties, premature death, etc. A great example of this is found in the book of Ezekial, we see that it was the fathers who ate the sour grapes. However, their children were the ones whose teeth were on edge. The passage is referring to how the children in the text were born in exile although they had not committed any sins. It was their father's sins that resulted in their state.
Therefore it will happen, when the Egyptians see you, that they will say, ‘This is his wife’; and they will kill me, but they will let you live. Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you.” So it was, when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful. The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house.

Demonic Settings can be passed down generationally
Similar to batons in relay races, we are transferring things to the next generation. Life is a race, and as we live we must remember that we are not living for ourselves. Other generations will be affected by our actions. They may even suffer as a result of what we are passing on. Let's take a look at Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph! Abraham was barren and had Isaac at an old age. Whenever he got to Egypt he had a problem with fear which led him to lie. While this occurs in Genesis 12 with Abraham, it also occurs in Genesis 26 with his son. Issac is noted doing the same things as his father, he also experiences barrenness, has an issue with fear, as well as with lying. The same cycle is then repeated with Jacob except with a double portion. His difficulties were so severe that he even ran away for 12 years as a result. However, Jacob soon breaks the curse whenever he wrestles with God (Genesis 32:22-30).
Why was Jacob wrestling?
Jacob was fighting off every demonic setting that was in his bloodline, affecting and ruining his life. We even see him say “I will not let you go until you bless me” in the text, which indicates just how serious he was about overcoming the obstacles and boundaries that were in his way. After wrestling all night, the next morning he was blessed and renamed Israel (which means prince, whereas his former name had indicated that he was a crook). Blessings revere demonic settings and it is evident in the next generation that the curse was broken. If we take a look at Joseph's life then we see that he didn't have any barrenness, lying, or fearfulness. He was a blessed man because the curse was reversed. Joseph is even known today as a type of Christ and he was greatly successful.
Don't mess with prayer!
Prayer is so powerful! It can destroy every single demonic border and setting, that is in your lineage. So what are you doing in prayer? Are you receiving what Christ has already done for you on the cross? Are you taking prayer seriously? Don't feel as though you have to do all the work yourself. Christ has already done all of the work, and you should recognize and be aware of it.
A new bloodline!
From Abraham to Christ there are 42 generations! Within those 42 generations, we see 5 women who did horrible things, however, they were still introduced to the bloodline of Christ. Whenever we receive Christ, we become a part of a new bloodline! We switch over to His royal lineage! You are a new species because there is a new bloodline that has been introduced to your life.
You are operating under a new bloodline!
In the old bloodline, you may have had health difficulties.
But in the new bloodline, you are healthy!
In the old bloodline, you may have lived in poverty.
But in the new bloodline, you are successful!
In the old bloodline, you may have had anger problems.
But in the new bloodline, you are joyful!
In the old bloodline, you may have been bitter.
But in the new bloodline, you are quick to forgive!
Everything is different because you are in a new bloodline!
Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
- Colossians 2:14
The requirements that this verse is referring to were demonic. However, they were all nailed to the cross when Jesus was crucified. Believe that all the spiritual demonic settings in your life were nailed to the cross as well. Declare that there are no more demonic settings in your life and you are rising to the top!
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Nothing can stand against you! Not because of anything that you've done or your personal strength, but because of who is within you. Christ has already won and you are a beneficiary! Receive it!
