They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
- Lamentations 3:23
In the book of Genesis, we see that each day that God created consisted of an evening and morning time. We also see that the evenings preceded the morning. In our lives, we will go through night seasons that are hard and even painful. However, we will also experience morning seasons that are full of joy. As we endure the night seasons in our lives, it is important for us to know that morning is coming and things will get better. Whether it is in our marriages or businesses, the evening will be present but soon the morning will come, and blossoming will occur. You may be going through an evening season with depression, hurt, troubles, or bad circumstances, but your morning is coming!
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
- Psalms 30:5
The great depression began with the occurrence of “Black Tuesday” which summoned a season of economic downfall in the United States. Soon after WW2 began and yet another travesty began to strike. It was surely a night season, but soon after modernization and industry began to increase. The morning season was looming during the night season, however, it eventually came. When we hear about hurricanes we tend to only remember the destruction. However, they also bring a global temperature balance, which moves air from one area to another. They also bring rainfall and outsource tropical air from one area to another. Sometimes when you look in your night season you don't see anything in it, but morning comes from the night season. There are even beautiful stars that are present in the night (season).
No, neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed nothing deserving of death has been done by Him. I will therefore chastise Him and release Him” (for[e] it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast). And they all cried out at once, saying, “Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas”— who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder. Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them. But they shouted, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”
- Luke 23:15-21
An evening season could last for hours, days, weeks, or decades. For Joseph, it was 13 years and his dream was buried that entire time. The Lord had promised him leadership and rulership, but eventually, his morning came quickly and all was better. Just like Joseph don't give up in your night season, stay strong and hold on! You must find a way to encourage yourself within and press on. You can not go through life discouraged because your morning is coming.
Let’s take a look at the life of Jesus. He was an amazing apostle, prophet, pastor, shepherd, teacher, and leader. However, He also experienced conflict with naysayers and people who were against Him (like as Pharisees). However, He continued to build amid adversity and as the naysayers spoke. Know that naysayers will always be there and they may even try to torture you for the rest of your life, but continue to build. Jesus had a way of building when things were difficult and hard, and he built up a powerful movement. Here we are 2000+ years later and we as His children are still continuing what he established in resistance. So continue to build even what the naysayers are there. If you begin to lose sleep over what the naysayers are saying then you are giving them too much power. As you go through life continue to fast, pray, and read your word, even in the presence of naysayers.
Sometimes you don't go into a night season because of something that you have done. Jesus was hung on a cross, not because of what He had done. However, He knew that there was a greater purpose for His suffering. As He suffered on that cross He turned that night season into a morning season. When you are in a night season, you must know and believe that your morning season is coming. Instead of aborting the dreams that God has given you and not believing in the promises of God. There is an enduring power that is within you and you must continue to move forward. Remember that weeping may endure for a night but joy IS coming in the morning. God is faithful and you can trust Him.
