But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. - Matthew 6:33
When you seek the Kingdom of God first, everything else will either fall into place or prove itself irrelevant. Our greatest fear in life should not be a failure, but succeeding at something that doesn't matter! You can spend your entire life thinking that you're succeeding, however, if you're investing in something that isn't important then you aren't truly succeeding. The key to finding out the value of life/what matters most is finding the most important thing in life and building around it. With 100 years at most on this earth, we must sincerely ponder and meditate on what life is really about. Life in the simplest of terms is an open book exam that determines where we are going to spend eternity.
Here is an overview of the Kingdom of God
The priorities of a Believer concerning the Kingdom of God
#1 To pursue the Kingdom
#2 Pray that it will come
#3 Preach about the KIngdom
Why should the kingdom of God be the most important thing in a Christian's life?
Because the Bible from Genesis-Revelation centers around the Kingdom of God!
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. - Matthew 24:14
What to know about the Kingdom
The Kingdom of God is not tangible, nor is It within us
Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst."
- Luke 17:20-21
The KIngdom of God is not Heaven, however, it has the capability to come down to Earth. Because Heaven is its own place.
"This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. - Matthew 6:9-10
The KIngdom of God is not of this world or like this world, therefore it can not be advanced physically.
Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” - John 18:36
The Kingdom of Heaven and The Kingdom of God are the same things because these two scriptures are based on the same teaching moment that the Lord gave.
The Kingdom of God is a spiritual phenomenon that has 2 phases
There is a phase where we enter the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth!
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. - John 3:5
We also enter later in the future, (what we loosely describe as going to Heaven) inheriting the Kingdom!
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. - Matthew 25:31
The Kingdom of God is a very important subject and we have been called to be special people and to be in a relationship with Him. As we remain faithful, we can expect to inherit this very Kingdom!
